Uniform Civil Code

Uniform civil code is an important step for India to be truly secular .


What need to be understood is that India already have civil codes for many aspects except for the laws governing families and personal law like marriages, divorce, adoption rights, inheritance rules etc.


1. Primarily, a uniform law will ultimately help India's women in every religion.
2. Poligamy and triple talaq systems that are repressive for women among Muslims will be come illegal.
3. Property inheritance laws will also get standardized.
4. The stranglehold of local churches (forced fund collection, excommunication) on their followers with respect to marriages will come to an end.
5. Untouchability, anti-dalit practices, khap panchayat verdicts on love marriages etc would also get curbed.


Let's hope this is a sincere effort from the Govt this time, and not a poll-gimmick timed for the UP elections.

ഒരു വീട്ടിൽ മിനിമം മൂന്നു കക്കൂസുള്ള കേരളത്തിൽ ഈ പരസ്യം നിർത്തി ആ കാശു കൊണ്ടു ഗുജറാത്തിൽ കുറച്ചു കക്കൂസ്സു പണിതൂടെ?

All Malayalam channels are flooded with Vidya Balan's "shochanalayam" advertisement. A typical Malayali home have a minimum of 3 toilets. Can they stop these advts and use these funds to make new toilets in Gujarat?

അസഹിഷ്ണുത ഒരു മതത്തിന്റെയും കുത്തക അല്ല.

മാധ്യമം വാരികയുടെ ലേഖിക വി പി റെജീന തന്റെ ബാല്യത്തിലെ ചില മദ്രസ്സാനുഭവങ്ങൾ വിവരിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടായ കോലാഹലത്തിന്റെയും തെറി വിളികളുടെയും പേര് അസഹിഷ്ണുത (intolerance) എന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് .


അസഹിഷ്ണുത ഒരു മതത്തിന്റെയും കുത്തക അല്ല.

PS: ഈ പിറപ്പു കേടു ചെയ്യുന്നത് തീവ്രവാദത്തിൽ പെടില്ല, അവർക്കെതിരെ രാജ്യ ദ്രോഹ കുറ്റവും എടുക്കണ്ട. കാരണം ഇത് നമ്മുടെ ആൾക്കാരാണല്ലോ.

Bihar Elections

For those who are still wondering and still coming to terms...


Its not a vote against development. Nitish Kumar was doing a pretty good job in Bihar. It actually was a vote against the divisive politics and intolerance. If the hard core elements are not reigned in, it won't matter whether PM does 40+ election rallies and whether Rs. 1.25 Lakh Crore packages are announced before elections.
